FromSoftware Announces 'The Duskbloods' Network Test for Nintendo Switch 2

FromSoftware, the celebrated studio renowned for hit games such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne, is inviting players to a closed network test for their new title, 'The Duskbloods', exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. This early access opportunity, set for late August, will allow selected participants to experience the game ahead of its official release. Prospective testers need to register during a specific period in July to be considered for participation.

The registration window for 'The Duskbloods' Network Test is open from Wednesday, July 22nd, at 3 PM BST (UK) until Tuesday, July 28th, at 2:59 PM BST (UK). To be eligible, applicants must own a Nintendo Switch 2 console and have an active Switch Online membership. The sign-up process requires linking a Nintendo account through the official website. Successful applicants will receive notifications on Friday, August 7th, at 2 PM UK time. The network test itself will comprise five separate sessions, each lasting four hours, spread across late August. Players are advised that participating in the test means adhering to strict guidelines, including prohibitions on sharing screenshots or video content, as the Switch 2 Capture button will be disabled.

The primary goal of this network test is to rigorously assess the game's online infrastructure and performance, ensuring a stable and enjoyable experience for all players upon launch. FromSoftware aims to gather critical data on server load and game balancing, which will inform final adjustments before the game's public release. The test is expected to accommodate a large number of players simultaneously, suggesting a multiplayer focus similar to past FromSoftware network tests for games like Elden Ring. While specific details about the content of 'The Duskbloods' network test remain scarce, it is anticipated to provide a limited, yet comprehensive, look at the game's core mechanics and online interactions, potentially involving hub areas and multiplayer matches to tackle bosses and various challenges.

This network test represents an exciting opportunity for dedicated fans to contribute to the development of 'The Duskbloods', ensuring the final product delivers a polished and engaging experience. By participating, players become an integral part of refining a game that promises to uphold FromSoftware's legacy of challenging and immersive gameplay, fostering a sense of community and collaborative spirit in the gaming world.
